The Background
Don't use colors that tire the eye, such as red or bright green.
Instead, you can choose the always-preferred white, black, or dark gray.
A dark blue can be effective, as it gives some depth to your page or site.
Avoid using pictures for the background, because the text can't be easily read
against it. However, try to use contrast colors for background and text,
such as white/black, white/blue, and so on. Also, pay attention to
the text links and their colors. Usually, the default color for a text
link is blue, so, if you usea black background, you will have to change
the link color for one that will provide a greater contrast.

The Text Colors & Headings
Try to use as few colors as possible. If you use too many,the site may look
unprofessional and too gaudy. Try to use different shades of the same
color instead of choosing new ones. Avoid incompatible combinations
and fluorescent colors as well. The headings are also very important.
The visitor's eye will be attracted by unique headings –either larger in size
or different in color. If you opt for size, don’t make the headings too big --
- the difference between the heading andthe text itself must be reasonable.

1. Have the pages load as quickly as possible.Faster access will always be more
attractive to visitors. -2. Access to information should be simple,
intuitive and easily navigatible. There should be a number of logical ways to access
a page or a piece of information on your site. - 3. Don't use animated GIFs.
They are large, slow, and unprofessional.4. Integrate the images into your
site for continuity purposes. 5. It is recommended to change the entire layout
of the site approximately every six months. A dynamicimproved Web site will
always be attractive to visitors. When possible, use templates and CGI scripts, thus
reducing the time spent on this boring operation. - 6. Always display something new
on the first page!This will contribute to the sense of timeliness of your site. -
7. If you invite reader submissions, allow it to be done in real-time. -
8. Try to impersonate your visitors and predict what you think they would like from
a site such as yours. -9. There are a variety of graphic modes and monitors
which the visitors can use, so preview your site in as many modes and
colors as possible. - 10. Display the preferred browser type, graphic mode
and colors somewhere on the page. There are many differences between, for
example,Netscape and IE, and you don't want to lose visitors due to compatibility
problems These are just a few aspects in creating a professional,
